Job summary

AirNet II in Columbus, OH, a Kalitta family company, is seeking a Chief Inspector to support our FAA-certificated repair station inspection program. Reporting to the Director of Maintenance, the Chief Inspector helps oversee repair station inspection activities and ensures maintenance records are completed accurately before articles are approved for return to service.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate.
  • Minimum of 36 months of relevant aviation maintenance or repair station experience.
  • Ability to understand, read, and write English as required for FAA inspection personnel.
  • Valid unrestricted driver’s license.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
  • Ability to successfully complete required DOT/FAA pre-employment drug screening and background checks.
  • Thorough knowledge of FAA regulations, Including: 14 CFR Part 43, 14 CFR Part 65, 14 CFR Part 91, 14 CFR Part 145.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the daily operation of the inspection department and support repair station inspection personnel.
  • Verify inspections are properly completed and required records, reports, forms, and maintenance releases are accurate before return to service.
  • Maintain current technical data, including applicable FAA regulations, airworthiness directives, service bulletins, manuals, specifications, and approved repair station data.
  • Ensure inspection tools and precision test equipment are checked, calibrated, and documented according to repair station procedures.
  • Confirm that rejected, unserviceable, defective, or unairworthy parts are identified, tagged, handled, and prevented from installation.
  • Perform preliminary, hidden-damage, in-process, final, and incoming material inspections as required.
  • Submit required reports of defects or unairworthy conditions in accordance with applicable FAA requirements.
  • Support compliance with the Repair Station Manual, quality procedures, and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Assist with aircraft maintenance tasks when needed and within the scope of qualifications.

AirNet II is seeking a motivated Chief Inspector to support our FAA-certificated repair station inspection program in Columbus, Ohio. This role is ideal for an experienced aviation maintenance professional who is ready to help lead inspection operations and maintain regulatory compliance.

Summary

Key Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Beechcraft Baron, or Learjet 35-series aircraft.
  • Prior experience supporting inspection, quality, or return-to-service processes in an FAA repair station environment.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
  • On-site role based in Columbus, Ohio.
  • Day shift schedule; operational needs may require flexibility.
  • Ability to perform light to moderate lifting and work in an aircraft maintenance environment.
  • Ability to climb ladders, use work stands, platforms, and lift equipment, and work in confined spaces as needed.
