Richland County seeks a Chief Information Security Officer to lead the information security program across IT operations, infrastructure, and data protection. You will develop and enforce security standards, policies, and guidelines for diverse platforms including web, client/server, AS/400, mobile, and cloud.
You will interact with RCIT divisions, department heads, HR, Legal, Finance, and external auditors to ensure risk is managed and compliance is maintained.
The CISO performs technical, business, and administrative duties related to the security of information technology operations, technical infrastructure support, and data protection within Richland County. The CISO will be responsible for the development, implementation, and enforcement of security standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines for multiple platforms and diverse system environments (e.g., web-based systems, client server systems, AS400 systems, mobile platforms, cloud platforms, etc.) Regularly interacts with the RCIT Business Systems Division and GIS Division. Regularly interacts with department heads and their employees from all of Richland County’s departments, including the county’s Risk Manager, Legal Department, HR Department, and Finance Department. Regularly interacts with outside consultants and outside vendors, including the county’s financial external auditor.
Education Must have successfully completed college level course work in related topics, or attended related professional seminars, or have equivalent professional experience. High school diploma is required. Must be able to supply written proof of completion for all course work and/or degrees that are being used to satisfy the minimum training requirements.
GIAC (Global Information Assurance Certifications) an affiliate of the SANS Institute and Cisco Certifications are preferred. Must be able to attain GIAC certification within first year of employment. The following certifications will be used for compensation considerations:
