Job summary

Caltrans seeks a Chief, Hydraulics Branch in Yuba County to lead the district hydraulics/stormwater unit, oversee drainage studies, hydraulic analyses and coordination with other branches. The role requires a professional license and offers telework flexibility based on policy.

Qualifications

Ability to work cooperatively with and build partnerships internally among Region and District functions as well as with external customers.
Demonstrated ability to relate to and work with interdisciplinary project teams to analyze situations and build consensus.
Experience implementing the Department’s project delivery policies, standards and other factors relating to design of transportation facilities.
Ability to lead a multi-disciplinary professional team to deliver a complex work product.

Responsibilities

Plan, organize and direct the work of Transportation Engineers as Branch Chief of the District Hydraulics/Stormwater Branch.
Review and prepare drainage improvement plans; hydraulic studies and drainage reports and SWDRs.
Coordinate drainage design activities with other design branches and with internal/external stakeholders.
Lead collaborations across North Region functional branches to ensure project delivery.
