Job summary

Margaritaville at Sea seeks a Chief HESS Officer to lead health, environment, safety and security for the fleet. You will set standards, build a team, and provide a data-driven view of HESS performance to the executive team.

Required is a strong maritime HESS background, ISO lead auditor credentials, and experience with ISM, SOLAS, MARPOL and VIDA. The role is hybrid, based in Orlando, with travel to homeports and ships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in marine engineering or related field.
• At least 10 years of HESS leadership in maritime or high-hazard industries.
• Certified lead auditor for ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• NEBOSH International Diploma or CSP credential.
• Formal training in human factors/root cause methodologies such as HFACS or TapRooT.
• Working knowledge of ISM Code, SOLAS, MARPOL, MLC 2006 and ISPS Code.

Responsibilities

• Lead HESS across the fleet and set strategy, standards and budgets.
• Build and lead shoreside HESS team; report performance to execs.
• Own environmental compliance and public health readiness.
• Own safety risk assessment program and incident prevention.
• Oversee security programs and integrate cyber risk for OT.
• Partner with ship manager for audits and corrective actions.
