Job summary

Primary Health Solutions seeks an experienced General Counsel to lead legal strategy for a Federally Qualified Health Center funding. You will oversee regulatory compliance, contract drafting, and governance matters, partnering with leadership to protect the organization and advance mission.

The role requires a JD, an active Ohio license, and 5–7 years in healthcare or nonprofit legal work. Strong research, analytical, and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Active Ohio license to practice law.
• 5–7 years of legal experience; healthcare or nonprofit experience preferred.
• Experience with healthcare regulatory compliance strongly preferred.
• Strong research, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Regulatory & Compliance Oversight: serve as legal expert for HRSA, HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, Medicare/Medicaid and other healthcare laws.
• Contracting & Legal Document Management: draft, review, negotiate contracts and maintain templates.
• Employment & Labor Legal Support: advise on employment law, HR policies, investigations, and disciplinary matters.
• Governance & Board Support: counsel Board on governance, bylaws, fiduciary duties, conflicts of interest.
• Risk Mitigation & Litigation Management: identify risks; coordinate with outside counsel; support credentialing and malpractice concerns.
• Organizational Strategy & Operational Support: advise CEO and leaders on legal matters; support acquisitions, partnerships, and grant writing.
