Job summary

Federal Reserve Board in Washington, DC seeks a Chief of the Economic Section to lead an extensive program of current analysis, forecasting, and policy work. The role directs resources, budgets, and projects while representing the Board externally to public and private groups.

The position requires a PhD in economics or related field with at least four years of progressively responsible experience, including staff supervision and budget management, and a strong background in data science or AI

Qualifications

Requires a PhD in economics, finance, or a related field.
Minimum four (4) years of progressively responsible experience relevant to the section's field.
Strong preference for candidates with computer science, data science, AI or quantum computing backgrounds.

Responsibilities

Develops objectives and implements an extensive program of analysis and forecasting.
Supervises staff, sets priorities, and manages performance and resources.
Represents the Board with external groups in public and private sectors.
Ensures budget, compliance with policies, and timely output.
