Job description

Roof Maxx is a rocket ship with a mission. We’re not your typical home services company; we’re a bold, fast-scaling disruptor in the roofing industry, powered by innovation, sustainability, and entrepreneurial spirit. Our proprietary, plant-based technology extends the life of asphalt roofs by up to 15 years, saving homeowners money and keeping tons of roofing waste out of landfills.

But that’s just the start. With 360+ dealers across the U.S. and aggressive plans for national expansion, Roof Maxx is building a category-defining brand with a future-forward mindset. We’re positioning ourselves at the intersection of proptech, sustainability, and performance marketing, and our goal is to own every rooftop conversation and transaction in America.

Backed by strong unit economics, a rapidly growing footprint, and a high-performing leadership team, we’re entering a pivotal stage of institutional readiness and capital strategy. The right CFO will help take us there, guiding financial systems, unlocking operational leverage, and positioning us for a transformational PE-backed exit. This is your chance to join a company with momentum, mission, and massive market potential and build something lasting.

The Opportunity

This is more than a CFO role; it’s a seat at the table of a movement. At Roof Maxx, we’re not just scaling a business; we’re scaling a bold vision to own every rooftop conversation and transaction across America. As our Chief Financial Officer, you won’t simply be overseeing numbers; you’ll be architecting the financial future of a company that’s redefining sustainability, entrepreneurship, and home services. We’re looking for a strategic heavyweight, someone who has led at scale, navigated high-growth terrain, and knows what it takes to steer a company through a successful private equity-backed journey. You’ll partner directly with the CEO, CTO, and senior leadership team to infuse financial discipline into every corner of the business while fueling innovation and operational excellence.

This is your opportunity to:

●Shape the financial engine behind a nationally disruptive brand

●Co-lead digital transformation with our CTO, unlocking cost savings and scalability through AI and automation.

●Guide us through a high-value exit, preparing the company for PE investment and beyond

●Build a finance team and infrastructure that scales with our ambition, fast, smart, and future-proof

●You’ll bring vision. You’ll bring rigor. And you’ll bring energy that matches ours.

If you’re a results-driven, tech-forward financial leader who thrives on turning chaos into clarity and potential into performance, this is your moment.

Key Responsibilities Strategic & Executive Leadership

●Collaborate with the CEO and SLT to define the company’s financial vision and strategic roadmap.

●Partner closely with the CTO to integrate AI and emerging tech into finance operations and strategic planning.

●Prepare the business for private equity investment, ensuring all financial, legal, and operational elements are due-diligence ready.

●Serve as a strategic voice in meetings and investor discussions.

●Build robust, scenario-based 3–5 year financial models that guide decision-making.

●Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, aligning performance with revenue and margin expansion goals.

●Translate financial insights into business intelligence across departments.

Accounting, Reporting & Controls

●Oversee timely and accurate monthly closes, audits, tax compliance, and regulatory reporting.

●Own internal control design and execution to ensure accuracy, transparency, and risk mitigation.

●Implement scalable processes, systems, and SOPs to support rapid growth.

●Report on key KPIs and operational metrics that matter to investors and leadership.Capital Structure & Fundraising

●Optimize the company’s capital structure, manage banking relationships, and support future financing events.

●Maintain and manage the cap table and equity structures.

●Lead or support capital raises and M&A transactions.

●Implement a 13-week cash flow forecasting, liquidity tracking, and burn management system.

●Drive improvements in working capital, vendor negotiation, and procurement practices. Lead the company’s financial risk assessment and mitigation strategies.

People & Culture

●Recruit and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team.

●Champion a results-driven yet collaborative culture, leading with curiosity, integrity, and energy.

●Actively participate in cross-functional leadership initiatives and OKR development.

Qualifications & Desired Experiences

●Proven CFO experience in a middle-market, private equity–backed company, with direct accountability for financial strategy, investor relations, and value creation.

●Track record of a successful exit; ideally a $500M+ transaction (sale, recap, or IPO).

●Strong background in capital markets, including loan syndication and capital stack optimization; rating agency experience is a plus.

●Demonstrated success building scalable infrastructure across multi-entity ormulti-location organizations.

●Deep operational partnership with senior leaders, especially CTOs, to integrate technology, automation, and AI into financial strategy.

●Mastery of GAAP, audits, tax planning, and modern financial systems (ERP, BI tools).

●Skilled at building and leading high-performing finance teams in fast-paced, high-growth environments.

●Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics; MBA and/or CPA preferred.

●Strategic, data-driven, and collaborative; a big-picture thinker who drives execution and thrives in a team-oriented culture.

●401K retirement plan with company match

●Paid time off and paid holidays
