The role
You'll be the first dedicated finance leader across the portfolio, owning everything from the monthly close to the debt facility to buy‑side work on acquisitions. The seat is strategic enough to sit across from lenders and sellers, but you'll have to be hands‑on enough to get the close right yourself before you automate it.
There's no finance department to inherit. We're building on a modern, open‑source ERP platform designed to enable AI to own entire workflows and drive as much of the day‑to‑day processing as possible. The expectation is to lean on automation before headcount to scale the function.
What you'll own
- Multi‑entity close, consolidation, and intercompany accounting across the holding company, operating entities, and management‑services structure
- Cash forecasting on a 13‑week cycle, burn tracking, and capital deployment visibility for the founder
- Capital allocation, building the scenario models and return analysis that decide where the next dollar goes across two ventures and an acquisition pipeline
- Standing up and managing our first credit facility, then owning lender reporting and covenants
- M&A finance work spanning diligence, quality‑of‑earnings review, purchase accounting, and working‑capital and earnout mechanics on 3‑4 deals per year
- Partnership economics, structuring the revenue‑share arrangements behind partner clinics we support rather than acquire
- Intercompany and transfer pricing (with outside tax counsel) across our MSO structure
- Partnering on revenue cycle, reconciling in‑house billing to the ledger as we bring RCM in‑house
- Automating all of the above. The goal is a finance function that scales with agents and systems, not bodies
Required
- 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including leadership of a finance function; bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Have owned a month‑end close end to end
- A strong US GAAP foundation you still use across revenue recognition, accruals, capitalization policy, and the judgment calls between them
- Multi‑entity experience (intercompany transactions, eliminations, consolidated reporting, etc.)
- Hands‑on cash forecasting - you've managed a company's runway, not just reported on it
- Comfortable as the senior‑most finance person and can establish structure and process
- Experience with revenue more complex than simple invoicing (accruals, variable consideration, contingent fees, or claims‑based revenue)
- Defaults to automation and AI first when scaling
Strongly preferred
- CPA or public accounting / audit background
- Healthcare provider‑side experience in revenue cycle, payer reimbursement, or MSO/PC structures
- Has led or supported a transaction from the inside, whether an acquisition, a debt raise, or a sale process
- Has been through a system migration or ERP implementation and knows what breaks
- Genuinely AI‑forward. You've built with AI, not just used it, whether that's workflows, scripts, agents, or integrations. You've automated real parts of your own finance function, and you have opinions about what agents should and shouldn't touch in a close.
- Purchase accounting exposure, including opening balance sheets, working‑capital true‑ups, and earnouts
- Familiarity with transfer pricing or intercompany services agreements
- Small‑company or founder‑led environment experience (not just big‑company infrastructure)
