You will partner with the CEO and Board to guide long-term financial planning, manage cash flow, grants, audits, and risk programs, and help drive growth while serving the community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or 10+ years of related experience.
• 5+ years as CFO or equivalent leading nonprofit financial operations with 100+ employees or a $10M+ budget.
• Experience managing government contracts and multi-source funding.
• Knowledge of nonprofit or healthcare financial accounting and reporting.
• Experience with funds management, cost accounting, bookkeeping, and reporting requirements.
• Strong planning, organizational, and implementation skills for evaluating financial programs.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT AS OUR CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER:

Standard work hours are 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Tuesday - Friday and 10:00 am - 7:00 pm, Monday, with an hour for lunch.

This position provides strategic, high-level leadership by overseeing financial operations across the organization to maintain compliance, safeguard assets, and align short- and long-term goals with company objectives. You'll lead the vital day-to-day accounting, budgeting, cash flow, revenue cycle, and fund management activities that keep our nonprofit in good standing. Leading a finance team of 15, you'll direct strategic planning initiatives, analyze data, and complete activity-based assessments to provide insights into organizational performance and growth opportunities. Your efforts will support both short- and long-term excellence. With an analytical, growth-focused mindset, you'll develop spending plans, monitor expenditures, maintain financial controls, and oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy in all activities. You'll also prepare comprehensive financial reports and productivity metrics for leadership and Board use.

Regulatory compliance is vital, and you'll make sure all activities meet relevant state and federal requirements (funding sources, licensing needs, nonprofit operations, etc.). This includes coordinating relationships with fiscal sponsors, managing grant reporting/tracking, and overseeing timely corporate tax filings. You'll also ensure accounting and audit practices meet nonprofit standards and requirements. The Chief Financial Officer works closely with the CEO, Board of Directors, and executive leadership team to develop short-, medium-, and long-term plans, forecasts, and investment strategies. You'll present persuasive reports, manage banking relationships, evaluate financing opportunities, and help make the best decisions for the nonprofit. Additionally, you'll oversee our organization's insurance programs and maintain compliant risk management practices. You'll mentor the financial team, support organizational improvement activities, and maintain compliance to ensure our nonprofit can continue to serve the community.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting (or a related field) OR 10+ years of directly related experience
• 5+ years of experience as a CFO, controller, or an equivalent leadership position overseeing a non-profit's financial operations with 100+ employees or a $10M+ budget
• Experience managing government contracts and multi-source funding
• Knowledge of financial accounting, budgeting, control and reporting principles as applied within a nonprofit or healthcare business environment
• Thorough understanding of/experience with managing funds and cost accounting, bookkeeping, and financial management information requirements
• Exceptional planning, organizational, and implementation skills for evaluating and modifying financial programs and informational support systems

We would prefer that our Chief Financial Officer have a CPA or MBA, but it's not required for the right person! Experience in software development, professional services business, or FQHCs (federally qualified health centers) would also be ideal.

OUR COMPENSATION PACKAGE:

Depending on experience and qualifications, our Chief Financial Officer can earn $200,000 - $250,000/year.
