Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions partners with a respected Houston professional services firm to identify a Chief Financial Officer. The executive will shape financial strategy, lead accounting operations, and collaborate with senior leadership to drive growth and long-term objectives.

The ideal candidate brings 8+ years in accounting/finance leadership, strong GAAP, budgeting, treasury, and FP&A expertise, and a proven ability to partner with executives to influence strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
• Minimum 8+ years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience.
• 5+ years of experience leading and developing accounting and finance teams.
• Strong expertise in GAAP, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, treasury, tax, and FP&A.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting and finance functions, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury management, payroll, tax compliance, and internal controls.
• Serve as trusted advisor to executive leadership with financial insights and strategic recommendations for growth and profitability.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Direct cash management, banking relationships, cash flow forecasting, and investment strategies.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and monitor performance via variance analysis and forecasting.
• Manage external audit and tax compliance processes with auditors and advisors.
• Develop and enhance accounting policies, financial controls, and processes to improve efficiency and mitigate risk.
• Drive optimization and utilization of financial systems and technology for reporting and decision-making.
• Mentor and develop a high-performing accounting team in a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

What You'll Be Doing

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience.
