St. Augustine Health Ministries, a non-profit faith-based organization located in the Detroit Shoreway neighborhood is looking for a Chief Financial Officer.
SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: The primary functions of this job position include the responsibility for all accounting and business-related activities and functions of the corporation, including, but not limited to: reimbursement; financial analysis & strategy; reporting systems; management and preservation of all capital assets; supervisory responsibility of all A/P and A/R activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance. CPA preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Five or more years of experience in a health care setting.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
• Knowledge of health care billing and reimbursement processes
• Working knowledge of accounting/business office software packages
• Leadership skills: Coaching, team building, goal setting, decision-making, problem solving and analytical skills
• In-depth emotional intelligence: Demonstrated self-awareness and accurate self-assessment, sensitivity and empathy, openness, reliability and consistency.
PRINCIPAL JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Oversees all functions of the Administrative Services Department including A/R and A/P.
• Develop and implement standard accounting, analysis and reporting procedures. Oversee preparation of all financial reports, statements, audits, and grants, etc.
• Development and maintenance of a reporting system for departmental and facility budgeting program for operational and capital budgets. Oversee the preparation of all financial reporting.
• Formulates and recommends policies on banking, receipt and disbursement of funds and general fiscal matters. Monitor covenant obligations in a timely fashion as identified by the banking institutions.
• Prepare and submit reports to governmental agencies. Audit on a regular basis to assure government rules and regulations are updated and reviewed.
• Serve as a member of the senior management team, participating in strategies, policies and practices.
