Job summary

Covenant HR is seeking a strategic CFO to guide financial planning, reporting, and governance for its growth phase in the Greater Chicago area.

You will lead budgeting, forecasting, and analytics, partner with executives on investments, and drive profitability and cash flow improvements while building a high-performing finance team.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in the private staffing, workforce solutions, or professional services industry.
• Experience supporting staffing organizations with annual revenue exceeding $200M.
• Demonstrated success in a CFO role, leading finance strategy, forecasting, budgeting, and operational performance.
• Experience with Bullhorn, Greenshades, and/or Business Central ERP.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, helping shape the company's long-term strategic direction.
• Lead all finance and accounting operations, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and financial planning.
• Develop financial strategies that improve profitability, cash flow, and operational efficiency.
• Partner with executive leadership to evaluate growth initiatives, investments, and business performance.
• Establish financial controls, governance, and risk management practices that support continued growth.
• Provide timely financial insights and recommendations to support executive decision-making.
• Lead and mentor the finance organization while developing future leadership.
• Drive process improvements and leverage technology to enhance financial operations.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable financial and regulatory requirements.
• Support mergers, acquisitions, integrations, and other strategic initiatives as needed.
