Job summary

HHM Talent is assisting a client in greater Chattanooga, TN, to find a Chief Financial Officer who will serve as a trusted strategic partner to the President, providing executive-level oversight of financial planning, budgeting, reporting, risk management and investments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required.
• CPA credential preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience with leadership.
• Experience as CFO, VP of Finance, Controller or senior financial leader preferred.
• Strong knowledge of FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, accounting and reporting.
• Manufacturing industry experience highly preferred.
• Cost accounting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a strategic advisor to the President and executive leadership on financial planning and performance.
• Develop and execute the company's overall financial strategy aligned with goals.
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations for investments, acquisitions, and expansions.
• Identify opportunities to improve profitability, efficiency and financial performance.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and develop short and long-term financial plans.
• Oversee financial forecasting including revenue, expenses, cash flow and profitability.
• Ensure preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Oversee month-end and year-end close processes.
• Maintain internal controls, policies and procedures.
• Partner with auditors, tax advisors, lenders, investors and other partners.
• Lead, develop and mentor the accounting and finance team.
• Evaluate and improve financial systems, processes and tools.
• Partner cross-functionally with operations, sales, HR and others to improve visibility and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a strategic advisor to the President and executive leadership team on financial planning, business performance, growth opportunities, and long-term strategy.


• Develop and execute the company's overall financial strategy in alignment with organizational goals.


• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support major business decisions, investments, acquisitions, expansions, and other strategic initiatives.

• Lead the annual budgeting process and develop short and long-term financial plans.


• Oversee financial forecasting, including revenue, expenses, cash flow, and profitability.

• Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes.
