Job description

About Realtime Robotics

Realtime Robotics is transforming industrial automation with technology that enables manufacturers to automatically plan, optimize, and coordinate complex robotic motion. Our software helps companies unlock new possibilities in how they design, build, and operate automated systems.

We are entering an exciting phase of growth following our Series B financing and the launch of our next-generation software platform. As we scale, we are looking for a strategic, hands-on Chief Financial Officer to help build the financial and operational foundation for the next chapter of the company.

The Opportunity

As Chief Financial Officer, you will be a key member of the executive leadership team and a strategic partner to the CEO, Board, and broader leadership team.

This is not a traditional finance-only CFO role. You will own the company's financial strategy and planning while also helping drive company-wide operating discipline, strategic execution, and organizational scale.

You will bring rigor to how we allocate capital, measure performance, plan for growth, and make decisions. You will help translate our strategy into operating plans and ensure the organization has the processes, metrics, and accountability needed to execute.

You will also serve as a critical bridge between our Product and Commercial organizations, helping ensure that customer commitments, commercial processes, implementations, and financial outcomes are aligned.

Our ideal candidate has operated in a venture-backed technology company and knows how to balance growth, innovation, and capital efficiency. You are equally comfortable discussing a financial model with the Board, an operating plan with the executive team, or a customer implementation with a commercial leader.

What You'll Do
Lead Financial Strategy & Planning
  • Own financial strategy, forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning.
  • Develop and maintain the company's financial model and operating plan.
  • Establish meaningful SaaS metrics and KPIs to measure business performance.
  • Provide the executive team and Board with clear analysis, insights, and recommendations to support decision-making.
  • Manage cash, liquidity, and runway with a strong focus on capital-efficient growth.
  • Lead financial reporting, audit processes, revenue recognition, and financial controls.
  • Partner with our Controller and external finance resources to ensure accurate, timely, and scalable financial operations.
  • Oversee global financial and entity management as the company grows internationally.
Partner with the Board & Investors
  • Serve as the primary finance leader and strategic partner to the Board.
  • Lead Board financial reporting and preparation in partnership with the CEO and executive team.
  • Support fundraising activities, investor diligence, and investor reporting.
  • Develop the financial narrative that connects company strategy, operating performance, and capital requirements.
  • Maintain strong relationships and credibility with investors and other external stakeholders.
Drive Company-Wide Operations
  • Partner with the CEO and executive team to translate strategy into measurable operating plans.
  • Establish and evolve the company's planning and operating cadence.
  • Help lead company-wide OKRs, executive operating reviews, and performance management.
  • Identify opportunities to improve organizational effectiveness, resource allocation, and decision-making.
  • Lead strategic initiatives that require cross-functional coordination and executive ownership.
  • Build the processes and governance needed to scale without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
Build a Scalable Operating Infrastructure
  • Establish scalable budgeting, forecasting, planning, and reporting processes.
  • Develop KPI dashboards and management reporting that give leaders visibility into business performance.
  • Evaluate and implement systems, including ERP and other financial and business systems, as the company scales.
  • Establish appropriate governance, internal controls, and business processes.
  • Ensure the company's infrastructure evolves ahead of its growth.
Connect Commercial, Customer & Product Operations
  • Act as a strategic liaison between Product and Commercial teams to ensure customer commitments and operational requirements are aligned.
  • Partner with Sales, Customer Success, Product, and Engineering to improve customer onboarding, implementation, and revenue operations.
  • Help establish scalable processes for customer implementation and delivery.
  • Ensure commercial decisions appropriately consider customer outcomes, resource requirements, revenue, margin, and long-term business value.
  • Bring a data-driven perspective to customer and commercial performance.
Support Organizational Scale
  • Partner with the CEO and leadership team on organizational design, workforce planning, and resource allocation.
  • Oversee HR as part of the broader business operations function.
  • Partner on compensation planning, executive recruiting, succession planning, and talent strategy.
  • Ensure people investments are aligned with company priorities and financial objectives.
  • Help build an organization capable of scaling through its next stage of growth.
Provide Executive-Level Leadership
  • Communicate complex financial and operational issues clearly to executives, employees, the Board, investors, and customers.
  • Bring sound judgment, intellectual rigor, and a practical approach to complex decisions.
  • Build trust across the organization through transparency, accountability, and thoughtful communication.
  • Represent Realtime Robotics with external partners, investors, customers, and other stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
Required Experience
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in finance, business operations, or related leadership roles, with significant experience as a CFO, VP Finance, or equivalent executive.
  • Experience in a venture-backed technology or SaaS company, ideally through Series A, B, C, or D stages.
  • Experience working directly with a Board of Directors and investors.
  • Demonstrated experience with fundraising, investor reporting, and cash/runway management.
  • Strong command of financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, SaaS metrics, and strategic planning.
  • Experience building financial and operational processes in a scaling organization rather than simply maintaining an established infrastructure.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives beyond traditional finance and accounting.
  • Strong understanding of revenue recognition, financial controls, and audit management.
  • Experience operating in a global organization.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex financial and business concepts.
  • Demonstrated executive presence, judgment, and ability to influence across functions.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience preparing a company for an IPO or operating in a public-company environment.
  • Experience with SOX readiness, internal controls, and public-company reporting.
  • M&A experience, including acquisition diligence, transaction execution, or integration planning.
  • Experience managing international entities and operations across multiple countries.
  • Experience overseeing HR or broader People Operations.
  • Experience managing legal and corporate governance processes, including outside counsel and commercial agreements.
  • Experience working closely with Sales, Customer Success, Product, and Engineering in a technology or SaaS environment.
  • Experience in industrial technology, robotics, automation, manufacturing technology, or another complex B2B technology environment.
  • Competitive Healthcare Coverage
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Commuting Expenses Covered
  • Telecommunications Stipend
  • 401k Match
  • HSA Employer Contribution
