Job description

Director of Finance (Path to CFO)

Prime Robotics is building a full-stack warehouse automation platform combining robotics and software to transform warehouse operations. With teams in the U.S. and China and growing commercial deployments, we are entering our next phase of scale, including ERP implementation and a planned Series A raise.

We are hiring a Director of Finance to lead and scale our finance function. This role will focus on elevating, integrating, and scaling the current foundations as the company grows.

This is a hands‑on role for someone who can operate across both strategic finance and day‑to‑day execution, with a clear path to CFO based on performance as the company scales post‑Series A.

What You’ll Own
1. Financial Operations
  • Own core processes including billing, collections, payables, payroll (in partnership with HR), and cash management
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and month‑end close
  • Own intercompany accounting and international financial coordination; manage finance operations across the U.S. and China, oversee bookkeeper in the US and accountant in China
  • Execute and evolve purchasing and vendor management processes for the short term as the company scales, building a process for a future purchaser
  • Manage external partners (CPA, PEO, banking)
  • Step into execution where needed in a lean environment, while building toward scalable team structures
2. Strategic Finance & Business Partnership
  • Build and maintain financial models to support planning and fundraising
  • Partner with the CEO on Series A preparation, diligence, and investor communication
  • Own budgeting and budget vs. actual analysis at both company and departmental levels
  • Partner with sales and operations to develop pricing frameworks and improve unit economics
  • Perform project‑based financial analysis, including forecasting and margin visibility
3. Systems, Process & Scale
  • Act as a cross‑functional partner to align finance processes across departments
  • Design and implement scalable financial processes, controls, and reporting structures
  • Establish finance‑driven approval workflows and operating discipline (e.g., pricing, proposals, spending)
  • Build the financial and operational infrastructure to support company scaling and future team growth
  • Lead ownership of ERP (Odoo) implementation and coordinate with other departments (short term)
Requirements
Who You Are
  • 6–12 years of experience across FP&A and accounting/operations
  • Experience in a startup or high‑growth environment
  • Comfortable operating in a hands‑on, evolving role
  • Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and business analysis skills
  • Experience with ERP systems (Odoo a strong plus)
  • Experience with project‑based or milestone‑driven business models
  • Understanding of intercompany and international accounting (U.S./China a plus)
  • A builder mindset with the ability to balance immediate execution and long‑term scalability
What You Bring
  • Proven ability to own and scale a finance function in a lean environment
  • Experience supporting fundraising and investor reporting
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Experience managing external vendors and partners
  • Ability to work cross‑functionally and drive financial discipline across the organization
Why This Role
  • Direct partnership with CEO on company strategy and fundraising
  • Opportunity to build on an existing solid financial foundation and scale it
  • Clear path to CFO based on performance as the company scales post‑Series A
  • High‑impact role in a fast‑growing robotics company
Compensation
  • Base: $130,000 – $170,000 (minimum expected base salary $150,000)
  • Equity: Meaningful early‑stage equity + additional equity grant upon promotion to CFO
  • Location: On‑site, full‑time at HQ in Lakewood, CO
Benefits
  • Employer‑subsidized medical, dental, and vision insurance plans
  • Dedicated vacation and sick leave
  • Hands‑on experience with cutting‑edge robotics technology
  • Collaborative culture where innovation thrives and work has real impact
  • Excitement of contributing to transformative technology in a fast‑growing industry
