Job summary

Oregon State University seeks an experienced leader for the role of Associate Vice President for Facilities and Infrastructure. The AVP will serve as Chief Facilities Officer, guiding capital planning, design and construction, campus planning, operations, and real estate across the Corvallis campus.

The role requires strategic oversight of a large portfolio and a focus on service excellence, sustainability, and collaboration with academic and research leadership to support OSU’s R1 mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, facilities management, planning, architecture, or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in facilities, capital planning, or infrastructure management in a large, complex organization.
• Demonstrated success leading large-scale capital programs, facilities operations, and multidisciplinary teams with strong financial and operational acumen.
• Visible, communicative leadership style with ability to build collaborative relationships across executive leadership, governing boards, and campus/community stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and execution of a long-range capital and infrastructure strategy aligned with institutional priorities, financial sustainability, and research competitiveness.
• Oversee full lifecycle delivery of a complex capital portfolio spanning academic, research, student services, housing, and athletics facilities.
• Provide senior leadership for facilities operations, maintenance, utilities, grounds, and campus services, advancing a data-informed service-oriented organization.
• Oversee campus master planning, land use strategy, space planning, and strategic real estate acquisition, disposition, and development.
• Partner with academic and research leadership to support a top-tier research enterprise, including resilience planning for seismic risk, climate adaptation, and energy security.
• Provide enterprise-wide financial stewardship, including capital financing strategy, debt capacity planning, and legislative capital requests.
• Lead, develop, and inspire a large, multidisciplinary workforce, building a culture of accountability, inclusion, safety, and service excellence.
