This is a Chief Estimator & Preconstruction Manager position is with a small company managed by a cohesive team of professionals that is looking to increase our capability. This position earns a competitive wage of $120,000 - $150,000/annual, depending on experience. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CHIEF ESTIMATOR & PRECONSTRUCTION MANAGER

A polished professional with good client communication skills and the ability to be a team player is critical to the success of this position. You must have a proven resume of successfully estimating varied construction projects with values between $1-$22 million within the last five (5) years. Your experience should include DoD/Federal contracts and an understanding of government regulations. USACE experience is a plus as is direct award negotiations.

The location of this position may depend on the location of the employee. This position may be located at either the Tribal One Colorado Springs Office or the Centennial Office.

The following will provide a base for you to compare your experience and knowledge against. This list is not intended to be inclusive of the experience and skills necessary to perform the duties of this position.

Estimating Primary Functions:

• Accurate and timely estimating of projects assigned.
• Responsible for building a base of subcontractors relevant to project type and location.
• Detailed writing of RFPs for subcontractor pricing.
• Maintain continuity between project managers, superintendents and subcontractors through documentation including the transition from pre-con to field.
• Maintain a polished, articulate demeanor throughout the workday; you will assist heavily in the pre-construction/sales process with clients and prospects.
• Manage the bidding process including organizing multiple sub bids, in-house take offs, design-build estimating, subcontractor bid qualification, site visit walk-throughs and presentation of proposals to clients.
• Proposal writing and organizational skills are highly desired.
• Possess a thorough knowledge and background in commercial construction. DoD, USACE, Federal project experience is .
• Five (5) years' experience estimating ground-up, design-build and tenant improvement projects.
• Experience with civil estimating is highly desired.
• Understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and agency specific regulations, including the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR).
• Ability to make accurate quantity surveys and estimate the cost of materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor's work, making sure that all areas have been accounted for prior to submitting the estimate for review.
• May require some travel to the project pre-construction sites and the project sites during the construction process.
