Job summary

Belmont Search is seeking a Chief Estimator for a New England contractor. You will lead the estimating department, own bid strategy and go/no-go decisions, and manage hard bid and negotiated work from conceptual budgets through GMP.

You’ll supervise subcontractor coverage, catch gaps early, and develop the next generation of estimators in a confidential setting. With a track record pricing $10M packages and up, you must defend numbers in high-pressure rooms and drive the department toward

Qualifications

• 10+ years estimating experience, with prior leadership of other estimators.
• Experience pricing and defending $10M+ packages in high-stakes environments.
• Proven ability to own bid strategy and outcomes in room with operators.

Responsibilities

• Lead and staff the estimating department.
• Own bid strategy and go/no-go decisions with accountability in the room.
• Direct hard bid and negotiated work, from conceptual budgets through GMP.
• Manage subcontractor coverage and scope reviews to prevent gaps.
• Develop and mentor the estimators reporting to you.

A New England contractor is hiring a Chief Estimator to run its estimating department, with a defined path to VP of Estimating and Preconstruction. You own the number: bid strategy, hard bid and negotiated pricing, go or no go, and the estimators who work for you. BELMONT Search is a construction executive search firm. Ten years or more estimating, several of them leading other estimators.

You have priced $10M packages and up, and you can defend a number in a room full of operators.

Base is $150,000 to $200,000.
