Job Description

The Chief Estimator will :

• Have 7-15 years of Estimating or Construction Management experience
• Possess extensive knowledge of construction means and methods, costs, and engineering principles
• Have estimating experience with large Commercial, Industrial, Automotive, Residential, Healthcare, Transportation projects
• Be confident working with estimating teams of varying sizes, capable of estimating hard bid, negotiated, and conceptual projects
• Be self-motivated, with strong communication and interpersonal skills, and confident in developing and managing their estimate
• Have advanced computer skills with MS Office, Primavera P6
• Be well-organized, flexible, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task
• Prioritize workload and meet deadlines amidst changing demands
• Exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills

The Successful Applicant

The Chief Estimator should have :

• Report directly to the Sr. VP of Preconstruction
• Support and collaborate with management, operations, and estimating staff in reviewing project plans, requirements, and specifications
• Demonstrated leadership abilities to coordinate a team of estimators for large multidisciplinary estimates
• Ability to determine labor and equipment costs
• Review accurate quantity takeoffs and materials pricing
• Understand bid documents and assess project risks
• Comprehend project logistics and schedules
• Prepare bid packages and analyze subcontractor and supplier bids
• Review quotes and estimates with the Project Management Team
• Prepare estimates at various levels of project development
• Assist with post-bid buyouts and lead responses to RFPs
• Perform other duties as required
