Chief Estimator

Position Overview

The Chief Estimator is responsible for overseeing the estimation process for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in bid preparation. The role involves leading a team of estimators, coordinating with project management, and developing comprehensive cost estimates for civil, industrial, and heavy highway projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the estimation team to ensure high-quality and timely bids.
• Review and analyze project documents to prepare accurate cost estimates.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimation.
• Utilize software tools such as AutoCAD, P6, and HCSS for effective estimation processes.
• Develop and maintain cost databases and estimation templates for various project types.
• Conduct risk analysis and provide insights on potential project challenges.
• Present and justify estimates to internal and external stakeholders.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction estimation with a focus on civil and heavy highway projects.
• Proven experience as an estimator in the construction industry, preferably in a leadership role.
• Strong proficiency in estimation software including AutoCAD, P6, and HCSS.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
