Job summary

Takeda in Lexington, MA seeks an experienced EHSS leader to develop and execute enterprise environmental programs across global operations. You will lead cross-functional collaboration to integrate best practices into processes and drive sustainability and risk management initiatives throughout the enterprise.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in pharma/biopharma, ability to lead teams across sites, and expertise in environmental compliance, EHS risk management, and emissions governance.

Qualifications

• Essential: Degree in life sciences, engineering or similar field.
• 10+ years of experience in Pharmaceutical/Biopharmaceutical (or associated industry).
• Experience leading teams across multiple locations.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, regulatory agencies and vendors.
• Program management experience; demonstrated application of EHS practices.
• Expertise in worldwide environmental compliance, EHS risk management, and development of environmental programs (waste, wastewater, air pollution, biodiversity, pharmaceuticals in the environment, etc.).
• Demonstrated capability to oversee Scope 1 and 2 emissions strategy governance and execution, including renewable energyและ data/reporting maturity supporting disclosures/assurance.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and execution of enterprise environmental compliance oversight programs.
• Drive natural resource conservation strategy aligned with sustainability goals.
• Develop and execute environmental risk management initiatives within the risk management framework.
• Direct environmental due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
• Oversee hazardous waste disposal site review and approval program.
• Monitor emerging global environmental regulations and advise on business impacts.
• Provide EHSS leadership into global manufacturing continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop environmental policies, standards, and performance metrics.
• Represent Takeda in regulatory engagements and stakeholder groups.
• Oversee Scope 1 and 2 net-zero strategy and governance through FY2035.
• Oversee renewable energy strategy and PPAs as needed.
• Oversee Scope 1 and 2 data, reporting, and assurance readiness.
• Oversee voluntary carbon market approach for operations.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team.
• Assist with environmental reporting and disclosures.
• Other duties as assigned.
