Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies is seeking an experienced technology leader to own the strategy, architecture, and evolution of our enterprise business platforms across People, Finance, Procurement, and Legal. This senior role partners with executive leadership to translate business priorities into scalable tech solutions from Palo Alto, with a flexible onsite schedule.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in technology, including building/running business platforms with small teams.
• Proven experience transforming a business technology function with lean teams.
• Ability to translate tech vision into actionable roadmaps and architectures.
• Deep knowledge of enterprise platforms (ERP, HRIS, APIs, integrations, data architecture).
• Hands-on experience challenging designs, vendors, and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Define the Business Platforms Vision: develop and execute multi-year strategy connecting apps, data, automation, and AI.
• Own Enterprise Business Platforms: lead architecture, implementation, operations, and improvements across Finance, People, Legal, and Procurement.
• Drive Architecture and Technology Decisions: provide technical judgment and ensure scalable, long-term solutions.
• Champion Standardization and Simplicity: maximize native capabilities and minimize customization.
• Reimagine Employee Experience: create connected, AI-enabled experiences for employees.
• Accelerate AI and Automation: leverage AI capabilities and cross-platform automation to reduce manual work.
• Build and Scale with a Lean Team: lead a small global team with partners rather than headcount growth.
• Partner with Business Leadership: collaborate with Finance, People, Legal, and Procurement to translate needs into tech solutions.
• Deliver Operational Excellence: ensure platform reliability, security, compliance, and measurable improvements.
