Job summary

BDO USA is seeking a Managing Director to lead the enterprise architecture function across applications, data, integration, cloud, and security. This role shapes the target-state blueprint to enable a federated operating model and growth from $3B to $6B, chairs the EA Review Board, and guides strategic technology investments.

The candidate brings 15+ years in IT/EA, 10+ years in leadership, and proven ability to deliver portfolio rationalization and governance in a large, federated environment.

Qualifications

• TOGAF/Zachman or equivalent EA certification preferred.
• Bachelor's in CS/IS/Engineering or IT; Master's preferred.
• 15+ years IT/EA experience; 10+ years leadership in federated/regulated environment.
• Proven in application portfolio rationalization and reducing technical debt.
• Experience governing enterprise architecture and integration strategies.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for enterprise architecture across applications, data, integration, cloud, and security.
• Establish and maintain reference architectures, patterns, and standards for federated teams.
• Chair EA Review Board; document architecture decisions and rationale.
• Review major technology investments to align with target-state architecture.
• Own portfolio strategy including retain, modernize, retire, replace decisions.
• Define enterprise integration, API, data, AI, and cloud standards with stakeholders.
• Partner to embed security and zero-trust patterns across solutions.
• Lead M&A tech due diligence and integration planning.
• Establish developer platform and CI/CD standards; govern technical debt.
• Lead architecture community of practice and advise executive leadership.
