Job summary

LeafLink is seeking a Head of Engineering to lead our entire engineering organization. This role owns the technical vision, architecture, and health of every engineering function and reports to executive leadership.

You will hire and develop managers, set standards, and guide architecture, tooling, and headcount to keep moving fast without breaking things. Ideal candidates bring 12+ years in software engineering with 7+ years leading managers, plus experience with marketplaces or enterprise

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience with 7+ years leading engineering managers.
• Experience in marketplaces or enterprise platforms and building large-scale infrastructure or distributed systems.
• Direct experience building an engineering org from the ground up or at a scaling inflection point.
• Strong track record setting technical vision and translating it into a roadmap trusted by executives and the board.
• Experience with cloud-native architecture (AWS services, Terraform, containers).
• Experience owning security and compliance programs (SOC 2).
• Strong experience with CI/CD tooling and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Translate company and technology objectives into a multi-year engineering plan and execution roadmap.
• Build and lead the engineering organization, recruiting and developing talent.
• Set standards for planning, estimation, and delivery; ensure accountable execution.
• Own engineering architecture, infrastructure, security, and technical debt management.
• Improve velocity while reducing risk and technical debt.
• Collaborate with product and business stakeholders to translate requirements into priorities and roadmap.
• Manage the engineering budget, vendor relationships, and cloud costs.
• Establish engineering practices for code quality, testing, CI/CD, and on-call incident response.
• Lead security/compliance posture across engineering, coordinating with IT and auditors.
• Foster a culture of ownership, blameless problem-solving, and technical excellence.
• Champion AI, code generation, and multi-agent orchestration to improve delivery.
