Job summary

Parallax Space seeks a Head of Engineering to lead the technical organization as we scale from early product development to repeatable flight systems and production. You will own engineering strategy, architecture decisions, and cross‑functional execution across systems engineering, mechanical, electrical, avionics, software, test, and mission hardware.

The role requires strategic leadership and hands‑on execution to deliver mission‑ready systems for commercial and national security space

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field.
• 12+ years engineering experience in aerospace/space hardware.
• 5+ years engineering leadership across multidisciplinary teams.
• Proven track record delivering complex hardware from concept to flight./
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture decisions across spacecraft systems, hosted payloads, and mission hardware.
• Build and scale a world-class engineering organization with rapid product development.
• Define org structure, hiring plans, and technical leadership responsibilities.
• Recruit, mentor, and retain top engineering talent.
• Establish ownership culture, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure alignment of engineering work with product strategy and production objectives.
