Job summary

Sierra Space seeks a Chief Engineer to provide senior technical leadership across one or more major programs. The role ensures the technical baseline is maintained, oversees design, development and testing, and resolves complex engineering challenges to achieve mission success.

You will chair review boards, drive technology strategies, and collaborate with IPT leads while reporting to executive management. A Top‑Secret clearance and broad aerospace experience are required.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Typically 16+ years of related experience.
• Multidisciplinary engineering expertise for a major program.
• Experience leading significant projects and driving decisions.
• First principles approach to analysis and life-cycle execution.
• Technical advisor with guidance on complex projects.
• Ability to build strategy and execute across programs.
• Top‑Secret U.S. security clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to major programs and maintain baselines.
• Chair Engineering Review Boards and Failure Review Boards.
• Oversee design, development and testing of systems and components.
• Resolve technical issues and provide expert problem‑solving.
• Translate technical strategies into executable plans and guide execution.
