Job summary

Shaner Hotels in Beaufort, NC, seeks an experienced Chief Engineer to lead the Engineering Department of Compass Hotel by Margaritaville Beaufort, overseeing maintenance, safety, and regulatory compliance for a new coastal property.

You will manage budgets, supervise engineering staff, coordinate with all hotel departments, and ensure exceptional guest comfort as the brand opens this opening property in January 2027.

Qualifications

• Two years of hotel maintenance engineering experience; supervisory/management experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• Knowledge of hotel mechanical systems and OSHA regulations.
• Ability to read blueprints and equipment manuals; reading schematics.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee Engineering Department operations including preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Develop and monitor preventive maintenance for guestrooms, public areas, and equipment.
• Coordinate with Rooms Division to minimize guest disruption.
• Lead safety initiatives and annual inspections; chair Safety Committee.
• Manage annual operating budget for Engineering and vendor relationships.
• Respond to maintenance requests and coordinate with contractors for capital projects.
