Job summary

UnCruise Adventures seeks a Chief Engineer to lead maintenance, operation, and repair of all vessel systems aboard Alaska sailing vessels. The position begins in Seattle shipyard during winter with a rotational schedule through the summer season.

The Chief Engineer reports to the Master, supervises the Assistant Engineer on larger vessels, and ensures compliance with safety, environmental and company policies while coordinating with deck and hotel departments.

Qualifications

• Maritime engineering education or equivalent, Designated Duty Engineer preferred.
• Two years experience as Engineer on similar passenger vessels.
• Strong knowledge of diesel propulsion, electrical gensets, hydraulics, and hotel systems.
• Professional demeanor, time management, and pressure handling.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and SharePoint.

Responsibilities

• Maintain vessel readiness and supervise maintenance programs with the Assistant Engineer.
• Oversee fuel, oil, and potable water bunkering operations with safety compliance.
• Train new engineers and supervise performance evaluations.
• Maintain maintenance records, budgets, and shipyard planning.
• Ensure safety, regulatory and environmental compliance aboard the vessel.
