Job summary

Boeing in El Segundo, CA is seeking an Engineering leader to guide a multidisciplinary team on space-based product development. You will develop SOWs, expand product lines, and coordinate resources and schedules while presenting outcomes to management.

The role requires a BS in a relevant field, 9+ years' experience including space products, and US citizenship with Tier 5/SSBI eligibility. Onsite in El Segundo with relocation offered.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science or computer science.
  • 9+ years of related work experience or equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with space-based products.
  • Ability to obtain a Tier 5 SSBI/US government program access.

Responsibilities

  • Provides engineering leadership to a multi-skill team including internal/external resources and customers.
  • Develops statements of work (SOW) to satisfy R&D and business requirements.
  • Develops new concepts to expand product or service lines and optimizes processes and resources.

  • Plans resources over the project life cycle and coordinates allocation.

Position Responsibilities
  • Provides the Engineering leadership to a team representing multiple skill areas, which may include internal and external resources and customers.
  • Develops statement of work (SOW) to satisfy research and development, ongoing and new business requirements.
  • Develops new and follow on concepts that will expand product or services lines. Anticipates change and organizes processes and resources to proactively respond.
  • Identifies performance metrics and ensures that work and project breakdown structure (WBS/PBS), schedule and resource loading is completed by the team.
  • Develops and communicates responsibility authority accountability (RAA) to define team members' roles and responsibilities.
  • Develops, maintains and distributes team organization chart as needed. Leads project execution to complete the work statement.
  • Identifies performance metrics. Plans, identifies and coordinates resources required over the life of the project or program.
  • Incorporates lessons learned into strategic process improvements. Prepares and presents outcomes, assessments and corrective action initiatives to Boeing management.
  • Works independently.
Location & Work Arrangements

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the El Segundo, CA location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a Tier 5 (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) - Current Post-Start, and requires ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with space-based products.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience)
  • Current Tier 5 security investigation or active DoD Top Secret / SCI clearance.
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
  • Strong Communication, Adaptability, Decision Making, Customer Focus, Integrated Systems, Engineering Analysis, and Requirements/Tracing skillset.
  • Experience designing and delivering space systems or products.
