Job description:

New Orleans Country Club is looking for a full-timeChief Engineer to join the team.

Established in 1914, New Orleans Country Club is a full-service, private country club offering golf, tennis, fitness, food and beverage (a la carte dining and banquets) and swimming to our members and their guests.

Job Summary:

The Chief Engineer oversees all maintenance and repair operations across the club’s facilities, including the management of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. This role involves both analytical and hands‑on responsibilities, ensuring all environmental, water, sewer, and other club projects meet technical standards and regulatory compliance. The Chief Engineer manages budgets, staff and contractors, guaranteeing timely, efficient, and cost‑effective project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Communicate clear instructions, assigning tasks to ensure compliance with policies and standards.
• Maintain a harmonious work environment, addressing grievances and supporting team development.
• Develop, submit, and administer department budgets, ensuring all spending aligns with approved limits.
• Oversee club construction projects, ensuring contractor compliance with time and budget parameters.
• Document and monitor progress, maintaining records for operational and maintenance purposes.
• Physical Demands:Must be able to stand, walk, handle equipment, and perform duties requiring close and distance vision, distinction, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
• Maintain engineering and infrastructure records, ensuring compliance with city standards and public works regulations.
• Evaluate utility permits and development plans for regulatory adherence.
• Update as-built records as necessary for maintenance programs.
• Collaborate with club departments to support operations and provide high-quality member service.

Qualifications:

Required Education & Experience

• Licensure:Second Class Boilers License and or Second Class A/C License
• Experience:Minimum of 5 years in maintenance work
• Management Experience:2+ years of supervisory experience

Preferred Education & Experience

• Licensure:First Class AC License

Position Type & Expected Hours of Work:

Full-time position, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend flexibility as required.
