Job summary

Hotel Alpenrock in Breckenridge, CO seeks a Director of Engineering to lead the care, upkeep, and future of the hotel. The role is hands-on and will keep building systems, grounds, and operations running safely and smoothly to create an exceptional guest experience.

You will oversee daily engineering operations, emergency programs, budgets, and capital expenditures, while aligning with brand standards and codes.

Qualifications

• More than two years of post high school education.
• 4–5 years of related experience in a hotel engineering role.
• Advanced knowledge of building management/engineering.
• Experience with housekeeping operations and hotel systems.

Responsibilities

• Supervise HR in the division to attract, retain and motivate staff; hire, train, develop, empower, coach and counsel, conduct reviews, resolve problems.
• Develop and manage the capital expenditure plan and departmental budget.
• Maintain a preventative maintenance program and manage vendor contracts to standards and codes.
• Direct Emergency Programs; conduct inspections, drills, and ensure safety and compliance.
• Develop energy conservation programs to minimize expenses.
• Coordinate renovation bidding and oversee contractors to ensure quality at minimal cost.
