Job summary

Complete Building Services in Arlington, VA is seeking a Hotel Chief Engineer to support operations for hotel clients. The role manages budgets, schedules, PM programs, and ensures compliance with codes. You will lead maintenance teams and document work orders while delivering exceptional customer service.

Required: 2–4 years in a Hotel as Building Engineer or Chief Engineer, 5–8 years operating mechanical systems, and a CFC Universal license. On-call 24/7 availability is expected.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, managing and operating budgets and capital budgets.
• Develop and implement plans and schedules to achieve department goals.
• Develop processes, procedures and standards for facilities performance.
• Read and understand contract and RFP requirements.
• Review work performance of subordinates and document findings.
• Manage and maintain completion of PMs through CMMS.
• Assist with environmental compliance and regulatory codes.
• Coordinate shift schedules including holiday, vacation and emergencies.
• Conduct weekly staff meetings and review safety matters.
• Review and submit time sheets, work orders and documentation.
• Prepare cost analysis reports for contracted work.

About the Role

Complete Building Services is a facility management company that partners with major hotel brands Marriott, Hilton, Holiday Inn, and Cambria. We are hiring a Hotel Chief Engineer to support us in Arlington, VA. Salary range $33-$37 per hour. In this role you are eligible to make overtime. As a CBS Chief Engineer, you must be able to do the following:

• Assist in developing, managing and operating and capital budgets
• Develop and implement plans and schedules to achieve company and department goals
• Develop processes, procedures and standards for the facilities operational performance
• Read and understand contract and RFP requirements
• Create an atmosphere of professionalism andmutual support among employees
• Review work performance of subordinates
• Manage and maintain the completion of the facilities scheduled PM's through the CMMS
• Assist with environmental compliance
• Assist with the compliance of local, state, and federal codes
• Develop, manage and coordinate all shift schedules including holiday, vacation, sick and emergency coverages
• Conduct weekly staff meetings to discuss facility operations, project status, toolbox safety and other relevant information
• Review, approve and submit weekly time sheets, work order tickets and other required documentation
• Accurately document work performed on tickets and/or work orders
• As required, prepare and submit a cost analysis report for contracted work
• Assist with updating and implementing HAZCOM and environmental programs
• Set-up, maintain and use filing system
• Perform tool and equipment inventory monthly
• Maintain skills and knowledge to industry standards
• Perform annual and semi-annual performance reviews
• Perform other duties as assigned

You Should Have

• CFC Universal license (410A)
• 2-4 years working in a Hotel as a Building Engineer or Chief Building Engineer
• 5-8 years of relevant experience operating and maintaining mechanical engineering
• Must have construction management experience
• Experience opening a new hotel
• Must possess excellent customer service skills
• Must beavailable to be on call 24/7
• Able to lift up to sixty (30) pounds
• Capable of ascending ladders up to a height of thirty (20) feet
