Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior design engineer to own end-to-end design of MV/LV electrical skids and UPS E-House product lines for data center environments. You will drive production readiness and coordinate a multidisciplinary team spanning electrical, structural, HVAC, and fire protection engineering.

You will ensure designs meet UL 891/UL 1558 and NFPA fire protection standards, guide documentation, and manage test campaigns through to factory acceptance, while collaborating with localization

Qualifications

• Experience taking packaged electrical equipment from concept through production release as the single accountable engineer.
• Experience owning designs spanning electrical, structural, and mechanical disciplines.
• Familiarity with UL 891/UL 1558 assembly requirements.
• Experience applying NFPA fire protection standards to AHJ-accepted equipment.
• Ability to make ship-or-hold decisions on a factory floor based on test results.
• Experience leading a design team of ten or more through compressed release schedules.

Job description

• Own the end-to-end design of integrated MV/LV electrical skids and UPS E-House product lines
• Drive products into production through design, compliance, and factory readiness
• Lead a team covering electrical, structural, HVAC, and fire protection engineering
• Coordinate assigned drafting and compliance staff from shared engineering services
• Define design upgrades and requirements with localization teams, including interconnect points, protection interfaces, transport and rigging limits, and seismic anchorage
• Work with third-party authorized vendors to deliver consistent products across the data center fleet
• Take product lines from clean sheet to production
• Design and productize data center modules, switchgear, switchboards, busway, skids, E-Houses, and cooling systems
• Own designs, intellectual property, and test campaigns from the first one-line through type testing to factory acceptance

Requirements

• Experience taking packaged electrical equipment (skids, E-Houses, PDCs, or integrated power assemblies) from concept through production release as the single accountable engineer
• Experience owning designs spanning electrical, structural, and mechanical disciplines
• Experience designing to UL 891 or UL 1558 assembly requirements
• Experience applying NFPA fire protection standards on equipment accepted by an AHJ
• Experience making ship-or-hold decisions on a factory floor based on personally witnessed test results
• Experience leading a design team of ten or more through a compressed release schedule
• Ability to write precise specifications and drawing packages
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
