Job summary

Pyramid Global Hospitality seeks a seasoned Chief Engineer to lead the maintenance department at a flagship property. You will oversee all mechanical systems, equipment, and preventative maintenance to ensure guest comfort and asset protection.

The role requires supervising staff, coordinating with contractors, developing budgets, and maintaining EMS/Life Safety Systems. You will work closely with operations and engineering teams to deliver reliable, safe, and efficient service.

Qualifications

  • Vocational or technical training preferred.
  • Two years' experience in a similar position in the hospitality industry.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing blueprints.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
  • Universal refrigerant license.
  • Ability to read wire and schematic diagrams.
  • Ability to properly use an electrical meter.
  • Ability to walk, stand, reach, crouch, bend, push/pull throughout duration of shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Responds to guest's maintenance requests and resolves their needs efficiently.
  • Oversees maintenance department operations and budget monitoring.
  • Manages hiring, training, motivating, and supervising staff in Property Operations.
  • Coordinates with outside contractors and service providers.
  • Develops and monitors budget analysis and capital plans.
  • Maintains and ensures proper use of EMS systems and Life Safety Systems.
  • Sets work schedules and maintains records related to Property Operations.
  • Identifies maintenance needs and organizes staff and contractors to complete them.

What you will have an opportunity to do:

We are looking for a someone with a strong background in hotel/resort maintenance, has a passion for providing customer service, is highly motivated, and detail oriented to join our team as a The Chief Engineer. This individual provides oversight of the maintenance department and is responsible for ensuring the working order of all mechanical equipment as well as repair and maintenance of the property. The primary focus is on engineering operations, including maintenance, repair of hotel property, outside grounds, hotel equipment, preventative maintenance, and asset protection. This person will identify needs, organize staff and contractors, and oversee the completion of the maintenance needs. You will be working closely with different members of our team, so you will need to be quick on your feet and have an engaging attitude. Your role:

Responds to guest's maintenance requests and questions and resolves their need efficiently. Responsible for the hiring of new employees and recommends promotions in Property Operations. Responsible for training, motivating and supporting subordinate staff to ensure quality service. Counsels, coaches, disciplines, and documents performance of staff. Recognizes and rewards superior performance. Directs and supervises the staff in Property Operations. Sets work schedules for staff according to skill and workload level. Organizes and participates in meetings and maintains records and data pertaining to Property Operations. Participates in the development and monitoring of budget analysis and capital plans. Develops and monitors engineering supplies, parts, inventories, and administers the purchase order system. Coordinates with outside contractors. Responsible for correct use of office equipment, EMS systems and Life Safety Systems, (training will be provided).

What are we looking for?
