Job summary

Pyramid Global Hospitality is seeking an Engineering Manager for Saddlebrook Resort to oversee preventive maintenance, staff supervision and guest request resolution at a premier resort. You will manage engineering operations, schedules and supplier coordination to ensure safe, reliable facilities and exceptional guest experiences.

Ideal candidates bring at least two years in hospitality maintenance, supervisory experience, and strong HVAC/electrical knowledge with the ability to read complex

Qualifications

  • Two years experience in a similar hospitality maintenance role.
  • Ability to read HVAC, electrical, mechanical and plumbing blueprints.
  • Experience supervising staff and coordinating maintenance teams.
  • Must hold universal refrigerant license and read wire diagrams.
  • Ability to properly use an electrical meter.

Responsibilities

  • Responds to guest maintenance requests and resolves needs efficiently.
  • Assists the Director with hiring of new employees and promotions.
  • Trains, motivates and supports subordinate staff to ensure quality service; coaches and documents performance.
  • Recognizes and rewards superior performance.
  • Directs and supervises the staff in Property Operations; sets schedules by skill and workload.
  • Organizes and participates in meetings; maintains records and data for Property Operations.
  • Participates in budget analysis and capital plans.
  • Develops and monitors engineering supplies, parts, inventories and purchase orders.
  • Coordinates with outside contractors.
  • Communicates information to the Director and acts as a representative in their absence.
  • Responsible for correct use of EMS and Life Safety Systems (training provided).

About our property:

The award‑winning, 480‑acre Saddlebrook Resort has made a name for itself as a premier meeting and vacation destination, as well as one of the nation’s preeminent athletic training facilities. What you will have an opportunity to do:

The Engineering Manager will assist guests with maintenance or other requests, identify and correct problems, organize workloads and supervise all employees in accordance with Engineering and the property’s policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Vocational or technical training preferred.
  • Two years experience in a similar position in the hospitality industry.
  • Previous supervisory experience. Ability to read and interpret HVAC, electrical, mechanical and plumbing blueprints.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools. Universal refrigerant license. Ability to read wire and schematic diagrams.
  • Ability to properly use an electrical meter.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Responds to guest’s maintenance requests and questions and resolves their need efficiently.
  • Assists the Director with the hiring of new employees and recommends promotions in Property Operations.
  • Responsible for training, motivating and supporting subordinate staff to insure quality service. Counters, coaches, disciplines and documents performance of staff.
  • Recognizes and rewards superior performance.
  • Directs and supervises the staff in Property Operations. Sets work schedules for staff according to skill and workload level.
  • Organizes and participates in meetings and maintains records and data pertaining to Property Operations.
  • Participates in the development and monitoring of budget analysis and capital plans.
  • Develops and monitors engineering supplies, parts, inventories and administers the purchase order system.
  • Coordinates with outside contractors.
  • Communicates information to the Director and acts as a representative in his/her absence.
  • Responsible for correct use of office equipment, EMS systems and Life Safety Systems, (training will be provided).
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

Respond to any reasonable task as assigned by the Director.

ENVIRONMENT:

Works in all areas of the property, both inside and outside possible in inclement weather. Must be able to work at various heights on ladders, roofs, etc. Some work may be in confined spaces.
