Job summary

Avalore, LLC in Arlington, VA is seeking a Chief Engineer to oversee all systems engineering and design activities for the WDP System. You will prepare and execute the System Engineering Plan (SEP), coordinate between engineering teams, and translate customer requirements into architecture while representing the engineering team in the ECB.

You will establish engineering standards, lead technical reviews, analyze performance metrics, and manage technical risks across the lifecycle.

Job description

The Chief Engineer will oversee all systems engineering and design activities required to engineer and implement the WDP System. This person will prepare, maintain, and execute the System Engineering Plan (SEP), which governs all architecture and engineering aspects of the program. This person will coordinate between various engineering teams, translate customer requirements into system designs, and represent the engineering team in the Engineering Control Board (ECB) to support major program milestones and decisions. This person will establish engineering standards and best practices for the program, lead technical reviews to assess design progress, and ensure integration of all system components. This person will analyze system performance metrics and recommend improvements, manage technical risks throughout the system lifecycle, and collaborate with program management to align technical solutions with program objectives. This person will mentor junior engineers and foster knowledge sharing across engineering disciplines.

• SECRET Security Clearance Required
• CSSLP, GCLD, or GSEC certification (for Junior/Journeyman levels)
• FITSP-D, GCSA, GISF, or SSCP certification (for Senior level)
• We are actively seeking multiple levels:
  • Junior: 0 - 3 years of experience + Bachelor's Degree
  • Journeyman: 4 - 7 years of experience + Bachelor's Degree
  • Senior: 8+ years of experience + Bachelor's Degree
• Good communication skills, self-starter mindset.
• Professional proficiency in English is required.
• Demonstrated proficiency in using all Microsoft Office applications.
