CyberCoders is seeking a Chief Estimator in Commerce City, CO to lead its estimating operations for multifamily and commercial electrical projects.

The role requires a strong leadership background in electrical estimating, advanced budgeting skills, and hands-on experience with Accubid, LiveCount, and ConEst. You will guide the team, develop budgets, review designs, and drive cost-saving initiatives.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive electrical estimating experience with leadership responsibilities.
• Strong background in multifamily wood-stick construction and commercial electrical projects.
• Experience preparing conceptual budgets, schematic estimates, and DD budgets.
• Knowledge of NEC and electrical systems.
• Ability to work with developers and owners during preconstruction.

Responsibilities

• Assess bid opportunities with VP of Preconstruction and set pursuit strategy.
• Lead and develop the estimating team.
• Prepare and oversee conceptual and DD budgets.
• Develop electrical budgets from limited design information.
• Review drawings and design documents for accuracy.

Location: Commerce City, CO

Salary: $130k - $150k /yr + Bonus

Position Overview

A rapidly growing and highly respected electrical contractor is seeking an experienced Chief Estimator to lead its estimating operations. This organization has established itself as a premier provider of electrical construction services, specializing in both multifamily residential and commercial construction projects. The company is known for its strong reputation, collaborative culture, and long-term client relationships.

This is a key leadership role reporting directly to the VP of Preconstruction and responsible for overseeing estimating strategy, conceptual budgeting, design development pricing, bid preparation, value engineering, and estimator development.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess new bid opportunities in coordination with the VP of Preconstruction and help determine project pursuit strategy.
• Lead and develop the estimating team.
• Prepare and oversee conceptual budgets, schematic budgets, and Design Development (DD) estimates.
• Develop accurate electrical budgets from limited design information and early-stage project documentation.
• Review drawings, specifications, and design intent documents.
• Direct estimates for: Multifamily wood-frame / wood-stick apartment projects, Commercial pipe-and-wire electrical construction projects
• Build new relationships and strengthen existing relationships with owners, developers, architects, engineers, and general contractors during preconstruction.
• Lead value engineering efforts and cost-saving initiatives.
• Manage bid strategy and conduct final proposal reviews with the estimating team.
• Mentor and develop a high-performing estimating department.
• Analyze labor productivity, material pricing trends, market conditions, and subcontractor coverage.
• Support executive leadership with forecasting, planning, and business development initiatives.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of progressive electrical estimating experience with increasing responsibility; prior experience as Chief Estimator or Lead Estimator strongly preferred.
• Strong estimating background in: Multifamily wood-stick construction, Commercial electrical construction (pipe & wire)
• Extensive experience preparing: Conceptual Budgets, Schematic Design Estimates,Design Development (DD) Budgets, GMP Budgets
• Strong knowledge of NEC and commercial electrical systems.
• Expertise in labor productivity analysis and unit cost development.
• Ability to work directly with developers, owners, and project stakeholders during early-stage project planning.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Background working for an electrical contractor.
• Colorado market experience.
• Experience with Accubid, LiveCount, ConEst, or similar estimating software. Accubid experience is preferred but not required.
• Experience with large apartment developments, mixed-use projects, podium construction, K-12 facilities, higher education projects, healthcare facilities, and commercial buildings.
• Design-build and negotiated project experience.
