Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. seeks a Sr. Solutions Director to serve as the Electronic Health Record Service Chief Engineer, providing top-level technical leadership, architecture oversight, and governance across a large EHR ecosystem.

You will guide design, integration, performance, security, and interoperability of enterprise EHR services, partnering with customers and product teams to drive modernization and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, CS, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in enterprise health IT or EHR systems.
• Experience supporting major commercial EHR platforms (Cerner/Oracle Health, Epic).
• Expertise in system architecture, cloud engineering, interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, DICOM).
• Able to obtain/maintain a Public Trust and travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior technical authority for engineering across the EHR service portfolio.
• Develop enterprise engineering strategy, roadmaps, and modernization plans.
• Lead architectural governance and engineering decision-making.
• Define engineering processes and gates with customer leadership.
• Mentor systems engineering teams and guide workforce development.
• Support proposal development, briefings, and customer engagements.
• Manage a team of technical resources.
• Ensure availability, performance, cybersecurity, and data exchange.
• Direct root-cause analysis for critical incidents.
