Sign on Bonus Eligible: $10,000 (2 year commitment)

This full-time hybrid position will typically work 4 days onsite and 1 day remote.

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

The chief dosimetrist is responsible for supervising the dosimetry staff across the network. They oversee, train, and implement all technology, policies, procedures, and systems related to the dosimetry section at all sites. The role requires a commitment to effective communication, collaboration, and interaction with health professionals. The chief dosimetrist also contributes to advancing the Allegheny Health Network Cancer Institute through research, community outreach, network expansion, and operations.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the dosimetry section across the network, including performance evaluations, scheduling, productivity, disciplinary actions, budgeting, plan QA, and rounding. (60%)
  • Participate in committees and meetings to support strategic decisions and process improvements. (25%)
  • Mentor employees/students and provide training to Radiation Oncology residents in dosimetry. (5%)
  • Plan for network expansion and new technology implementation. (5%)
  • Represent the department and network at community outreach activities. (5%)

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 7-10 years of radiation therapy experience
  • Radiation Therapy certification - ARRT
  • Certified Medical Dosimetry certification - Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board

Preferred:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor's degree
  • 1-3 years of supervisor/lead experience
