Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Associate or Full Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Applicants must have an M.D. and/or Ph.D. degree. Molecular Genetic Pathology certification following Pathology residency, or American Board of Medical Genetics certification in Laboratory Genetics and Genomics, is required. Physicians must be eligible/licensed in Pennsylvania.
Responsibilities include teaching fellows, residents, students, and staff; developing diagnostic tools; establishing standards for multi-omic data interpretation; and engaging in research in genomic diagnostics. The role requires proven leadership skills and expertise in genomic diagnostics, with the ability to lead the Division, which encompasses cancer genomics, constitutional genomics, and immunogenetics, supporting CHOP’s precision medicine initiatives.
The successful candidate will lead with a vision for innovation, develop new tests and technologies, and foster collaborations within CHOP and externally. The Division offers a broad range of clinical tests, including genome sequencing, exome sequencing, gene panels, SNP arrays, cytogenetics, liquid biopsy, and NGS-based HLA typing.
