Founded in 1987, Damien Center is Indiana's oldest and largest AIDS service organization (ASO) and serves more than 8000 individuals living with or at risk for HIV through a comprehensive, innovative approach to care and prevention. Our purpose is to be a trusted partner in providing services, education and advocacy for all people living with or at risk of HIV and any person seeking a safe and welcoming home for care. Our services include care coordination, clinical and pharmacy services, mental health, housing, and nutrition.

Position Summary:
As a member of the executive leadership team, the Chief Development Officer (CDO) facilitates organizational growth through strategic fundraising strategies and the relationship development of individuals, businesses, foundations, and others to support the work of Damien Center. The CDO develops and manages multi-year plans for revenue generation, focusing on unrestricted funds. This role provides leadership in soliciting and securing financial resources, enhancing the organization's visibility, and fostering lasting relationships with donors, corporate partners, foundations, and other stakeholders. The CDO works collaboratively with the President and CEO, board of directors, the marketing team, and staff to lead efforts that expand the agency's mission, vision, and goals.

Education and/or Experience
7–10 years in senior leadership roles within nonprofit development, marketing, or advocacy, with demonstrated success in major fundraising campaigns. Proven track record in cultivating and securing major gifts. Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, marketing, business administration, communications, or a related field required, Master's degree preferred. Fundraising certifications: Certificate Fundraising Executive (CFRE) or Advanced Certified Fundraising Executive (ACFRE) or willingness to work toward certification. Demonstrated success in strategic planning operations and financial management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Possess superior organizational and administrative skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities. Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Ability to work independently and achieve high standards of productivity, achieving deadlines and with superior product results. Strong calendaring, organizational, and document management skills required. Proactive approach to solving problems and communicating to leadership. Knowledge of office management systems, procedures, and office equipment required. Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work.
