The Staenberg–Loup Jewish Community Center (JCC Denver) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to serve, strengthen, and inspire the community guided by timeless Jewish values.

For over 100 years, the JCC Denver has served the Greater Denver metro area through educational, social, and cultural programs rooted in Jewish values. It creates a vibrant, inclusive social hub with programs focused on connection, community, and well-being, including aquatics, fitness, tennis, early learning, arts and culture, camps, and engagement activities for diverse groups.

The JCC seeks a strategic and skilled Chief Development Officer (CDO) to oversee annual philanthropic revenue of $3.5M+ and additional funds for capital and special projects. Reporting to the CEO, the CDO will lead the Development Department, ensuring fundraising strategies align with organizational goals. Responsibilities include managing donor relations, cultivating major gifts, overseeing fundraising activities, and implementing innovative practices.

  • Create and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with the JCC’s mission and measurable goals.
  • Oversee the development department budget and optimize resources.
  • Supervise the development team : Director of Major & Corporate Giving, Major Gifts Officer, Development Coordinator.
  • Manage all stages of donor engagement, including identification, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and gift processing.
  • Manage a portfolio of major donors, cultivating and soliciting gifts.
  • Track and report on donor data, goals, and outcomes.
  • Identify funding priorities and develop compelling cases for support.
  • Support Board solicitation efforts and training.

Other Duties / Responsibilities

  • Follow organizational policies and participate in major events.
  • Act as a brand ambassador and media spokesperson when needed.
  • Perform duties as workload requires.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and collaborate with leadership.
  • Manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 7+ years of leadership fundraising experience in a social service or community organization.
  • Success in securing 6- and 7-figure gifts.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Supervisory experience with 2+ staff members.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, donor management tools, Salesforce preferred.
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and organizational skills.
  • Experience working with Jewish communities and nonprofits with budgets over $10M is preferred.
