About The Teach from DeHart Academy:

The Teach from DeHart Academy will be a non-profit middle school in the heart of Arnold, PA. The school is set to host 5th-8th grade students, teaching values and skills that will transition them into a lifestyle of success. The Teach from DeHart Academy will be in a century-old school building with a story to match its strong structure. When students attend TFDA, they will have a chance to gain a world-class education and see the world they are learning through hands-on travel or visits with adults who are leaders in their field within the community.

Our "whole child" education will involve a strong curriculum, travel opportunities, and engagement in the community. We want students to experience their learning at The Teach from DeHart Academy. The Teach from DeHart Academy is more than just a school. TFDA’s key component will be developing a community mindset in students by helping them learn to recognize and use their own personal skills and abilities to invest in their community. Our school will help to bring the city up through the students and parents. Parents of students who attend the academy, as well as local adults, will have the chance to join our adult education program and get their GED and job training. We plan to partner with businesses financially and by having them bring jobs to the area.

Responsibilities:

The Chief Development Officer (CDO) is a senior executive overseeing The Teach from DeHart Academy's fundraising and development efforts. The responsibilities listed below are done alongside our team and founder to engage every possible outlet for the school's success. Fundraising Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising and development strategy that aligns with the organization's mission, goals, and financial needs. This strategy may encompass various fundraising channels, including major gifts, grants, corporate partnerships, and individual donations.

Donor Cultivation:

Identify and cultivate relationships with major donors, philanthropic foundations, corporations, and other potential funding sources. Build and maintain strong donor relationships to secure financial support for the organization.

Grant Writing and Management:

Oversee grant proposal development and submission. Manage the grant application process, ensuring that grant opportunities are identified, pursued, and reported appropriately.

Strategic Partnerships:

Identify, establish, and manage partnerships with other organizations and businesses to support fundraising efforts and expand the organization's reach. Compliance: Ensure the organization complies with all relevant laws and regulations related to fundraising and development activities.

Stewardship:

Develop and implement stewardship plans to show appreciation to donors and maintain positive relationships with them, ensuring continued support. Innovation and Growth: Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging trends in fundraising and development to keep the organization's strategies relevant and effective.

Qualifications:

- Demonstrated skill, knowledge, and ability to raise funds through individual donors, corporations, foundations, and other means.

- Successful experience planning and implementing fundraising campaigns.

- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.

- A proven understanding of fundraising, including systems and operations.

- Confirmed experience working within the realities of a small, volunteer-driven development practice.
