Gillian Executive Search, Inc. in partnership with AIA Orange County seeks a Director of Design to lead architectural direction for premium fitness club developments across the United States.

You will oversee schematic design, site planning, and production drawings, coordinating with outside consultants to deliver a cohesive design vision. The role requires 10+ years in design‑led environments, a professional architecture degree, and licensure preferred.

Formación

• 10+ years of progressive architectural experience in high‑quality commercial, retail, hospitality, resort, wellness or design‑intensive projects.
• Professional Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture.
• Architectural licensure is preferred.
• Strong experience in conceptual design, schematic design, site planning, building design and space planning.
• Demonstrated ability to direct outside architectural firms, engineers and specialty consultants.
• Strong construction knowledge with the ability to review detailed construction documents for coordination and constructability.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Vectorworks; hands‑on daily design work.
• SketchUp, Photoshop and other visualization tools are a plus.
• Experience managing multiple projects and design issues in a fast‑paced development environment.

Responsabilidades

• Lead projects from initial concepts through design development, construction documents and production.
• Develop initial concept designs, site plans, building configurations, floor plans and schematic designs.
• Coordinate with outside architectural firms, engineers and specialty consultants throughout the design process.
• Oversee integration of interior design, MEP, structural, lighting and landscape into the architectural vision.
• Review design development and construction documents for design intent, coordination and constructability.
• Manage multiple active projects and consultant teams while maintaining schedule and quality.
• Evaluate potential acquisitions and redevelopment sites for architectural viability and constraints.
• Direct and coordinate third‑party architectural firms across the United States and Canada.
