Job summary

San Bernardino County is seeking a Chief Deputy Public Guardian within the Department of Aging and Adult Services - Office of the Public Guardian. This role oversees conservatorship and related services, plans and directs program operations, and represents the office in court and in policy development.

The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree preferred and substantial supervisory experience, with knowledge of relevant Probate and Welfare & Institutions Codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in behavioral/social science or related field.
• Five years of progressively responsible experience in public guardian or related human services field.
• At least two years of managerial or supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of Probate and Welfare and Institutions Codes.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and coordinate conservatorship services for conservatees.
• Represent the Public Guardian in Mental Health and Probate Courts.
• Develop policies, procedures, and budget recommendations; supervise staff.
