Job summary

The Lincoln County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office is seeking an experienced Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney. This role will manage a caseload of criminal prosecutions and oversee matters from case evaluation and charging through trial and appeal for both District and Superior Courts.

Essential functions include handling prosecutions, collaborating with law enforcement, courtroom advocacy, and supporting victims and witnesses throughout the judicial process.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
• Member in good standing with the Washington State Bar Association (WSBA).
• Typically, 1–3 years of relevant criminal law experience; prior experience in a prosecutor's office or public entity is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Criminal Prosecution: Handle all aspects of criminal cases, including case evaluation, charging decisions, plea negotiations, and conducting both jury and bench trials.
• Agency Collaboration: Work closely with the Lincoln County Sheriff, local police, and the Washington State Patrol.
• Courtroom Advocacy: Represent the State of Washington in Superior, District, and Juvenile courts, including arguing pretrial motions and probation revocations.
• Victim Support: Coordinate with advocates and support staff to assist victims and witnesses throughout the judicial process.

Position Summary

The Lincoln County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office is seeking an experienced Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney. This position will be managing a caseload of criminal prosecutions. Chief Deputy handles progressively complex matters from case evaluation and charging through trial and appeal for both District and Superior Courts.
