Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs seeks a Chief Advanced Practice Nurse (CRNA) IV to lead anesthesia services. Requires a master’s or doctoral degree in nurse anesthesia, active NBCRNA certification, and state licensure, plus four years of APN leadership experience.

Preferred: 10 years CRNA leadership, strong planning, staff supervision, mentoring for complex cases, and ongoing audits of anesthesia care. Eligible for Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP).

Qualifications

• Meets basic education requirement for an APN and four years of progressively responsible leadership assignments in clinical, administrative, educational and/or research related to CNA practice.
• Must have ability to plan long- and short-term goals for the anesthesia department and supervise staff and scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate section and departmental processes and programs.
• Supervise staff, students or ancillary personnel and ensure proper scheduling and staffing.
• Mentor for unusually extensive and complex anesthetic cases.
• Participate in continual audits of anesthesia care and performance evaluation.
