Bancroft is seeking a General Counsel to oversee legal matters, ensure compliance, and support mission-driven initiatives. The role reports to the President & CEO and covers regulatory compliance, contract negotiations, governance, and risk management.

Responsibilities include managing litigation, overseeing intellectual property, advising on human resources matters, and supporting public policy initiatives. Candidates should have a J.D.

Qualifikationen

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and admission to the New Jersey Bar.
• 5 years of legal and leadership experience preferably with significant nonprofit law, human services, healthcare or related fields. Strong knowledge of nonprofit governance, tax-exempt regulations and compliance requirements.
• Strong transaction experience and litigation management

Aufgaben

• Legal Compliance and Risk Management: Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies affecting operations.
• Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with vendors, partners, payors, and other stakeholders.
• Governance and Board Relations: Provide guidance to the Board of Directors on governance matters, ethics, and conflicts of interest.
• Litigation and Dispute Resolution: Manage and oversee litigation matters involving the organization.
• Employee Relations and Employment Law: Collaborate with Human Resources in HR policies and procedures in compliance with regulations.
• Advocacy and Public Policy: Monitor legislative developments; provide legal analysis on policy issues.
• Training and Education: Conduct training sessions on legal and compliance matters.
• Intellectual Property: Manage IP issues and engage outside counsel as needed.
