This role leads IP, privacy, cybersecurity, and AI governance for Moody’s technology-driven strategy, supports strategic sourcing, and directs a global team of specialists across IP, privacy, and data security.

The ideal candidate brings formidable IP expertise (patents, copyrights, data rights) with privacy, incident response, and leadership experience to protect the firm’s data assets

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing.
• 15+ years of combined experience in IP and technology law, including in-house and/or law firm.
• Deep expertise in IP strategy, portfolio management, and data/AI governance.
• Strong privacy, cybersecurity, and incident response knowledge.
• Experience leading global legal programs and distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise IP strategy, protection, and enforcement across patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets.
• Oversee privacy, data protection, and cybersecurity governance across jurisdictions.
• Advise on AI governance, data rights, and product legal risk for innovative offerings.
• Partner with procurement, product, and engineering on technology transactions and licensing.
• Lead, develop, and manage a global team of IP/privacy/tech lawyers.
