Base pay range
$80,000.00/yr - $135,000.00/yr
Overview
The primary functions of this position are to plan, manage, execute, direct, and/or supervise the activities of inspectors, contractors, and municipal or private entities performing construction projects within company facilities, generating stations, substations, or public areas such as roads, highways, or bridges. Ensure all work complies with company standards, specifications, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Maintain and protect the integrity of company facilities during construction, ensuring completion within schedule and budget.
Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
- Conduct field inspections to ensure protection, support, and maintenance of company facilities according to engineering designs and standards.
- Implement all code 753 requirements on applicable jobs.
- Conduct safety briefings, JSSE, stand-downs, and OJTs with field personnel and contractors.
- Ensure contractors adhere to HASP and all regulations, and that work complies with permits and community standards.
- Respond as incident commander for damages, environmental, or safety incidents.
- Respond to company-wide events like storms, outages, or emergencies.
- Investigate damages, report incidents, and ensure contractor performance is documented and corrective actions are followed.
- Process contract changes and review invoices, schedules, and project documentation.
- Monitor project costs, develop authorization requests, and maintain project files.
- Coordinate with various departments to resolve technical and contractual issues.
- Perform supervisory duties during nights, weekends, or overtime as needed.
- Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with certifications, licenses, and safety requirements.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree with 2 years of construction experience, or
- Associate's Degree with 4 years of experience, or
- High School Diploma/GED with 5 years of experience.
Preferred Education/Experience
- Bachelor's in Engineering or Architecture and 2 years of experience.
Relevant Work Experience
- Construction management knowledge, especially in electrical, mechanical, civil, or chemical fields.
- Knowledge of facilities, remediation, electric, gas, or steam systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with project management tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of building codes, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Experience with contract administration, inspection, and cost control.
Licenses and Certifications
- Driver's License required.
Physical Demands
- Work in various weather conditions, including walking, standing, lifting, climbing, and reaching.
- Use personal vehicles for work-related travel, with reimbursement.
Additional Physical Demands
- Respond to emergencies and travel within the service territory as needed.
